It's been two weeks since surgery. Last night we were able to get the ear wet for the first time. She was so excited to get most of the blood washed off. Two week old dry blood looks and smells pretty nasty. A good rinse made a big difference. It looks so much better...
The ear is still painful to touch and she still needs an occasional dose of pain meds but she is doing very well. We are still getting used to seeing her with two ears, it's definitely different. She still doesn't love to look at it but hopefully with time she will learn to love it.
They will rotate the ear lobe, the last part of her nubin, in the next surgery. The plan is to also fix the scar on her cheek from her skin tag (shown in the picture), as for now she's holding strong that she wants to keep the scar, so we'll see what she decides between now and then. The next surgery is scheduled for April 5th.
She was recognized in a school assembly yesterday as Citizen of the Month for Fairness. She is a good kid & has worked dang hard to keep up with her school work. We are so proud of her!
